Pump Down? Team ABET Brings It Back Better Than Ever with 3196 MT Rebuild

Our featured project this week involves a Goulds 3196 MT (4×6-13) unit that needed a very thorough repair to get it back into service. After a full inspection, diagnosis confirmation and disassembly, ABET technicians got right to work. They replaced the cast iron base with a BASETEK Poxy Base and upgraded the motor with a Louis Allis 25HP three phase Severe Duty Motor.

They then replaced the steel guard with polyethylene and replaced the mechanical seal (upgraded to ASI), power frame and foot, all gaskets, and O-rings, coupling hub, flange, and element. Summit Pump’s 2196 parts are 100% interchangeable with Goulds’ 3196. After reassembly and final inspection, they finished with hydro testing. The assembly is shown here prior to preparation for shipment to our fantastic customer.
