Armstrong 4280 Pump Refurbishment with WEG Motor Upgrade

Repairs don’t have to be complicated or cumbersome. But they need to be done correctly and efficiently and THAT is the standard here at ABET.

This week’s project features the quick repair of an Armstrong 4280 horizontal end-suction pump that one of our terrific customers dropped by. Our technicians went straight to work disassembling and inspecting the pump. They continued by replacing the mechanical seal, gasketing, sleeve and O-rings. After an added testing and evaluation session, they upgraded the motor to a WEG W22 40HP/18 JP Severe Duty model. Following the final end-to-end inspection, they reassembled the entire unit and finished with a hydrostatic pressure test.
