A thorough refurbishment can extend pump life and protect a customer’s capital investment. ABET recently completed that work on a Finish Thompson UltraChem 326 heavy-duty sealless magnetic-drive pump.
The pump was paired with a WEG W22 NEMA Premium Efficiency 10 HP, 3600 RPM, three-phase TEFC motor. Inspection showed that the motor remained serviceable while the pump required extensive attention.
ABET technicians replaced the housing, hub and hardware, sealing ring, barrier assembly, impeller thrust ring, and the housing and vapor-protection O-rings. After reassembly, final inspection and testing, the complete unit was ready to return to service.
