Solving the Mystery: Berkeley B4GBH Pump & Baldor 40HP Motor Repair by ABET

For instance, this week’s featured project is a Berkeley pump (model B4GBH) mated to a Baldor 40HP / 1775 RPM Super E Motor (Cat No. EJMMY110T) brought in by one of our great customers. The problem? Well, that WAS the problem: it was not readily apparent. Our customer related that the pump was new but was seized up and would not rotate.

The solution? ABET technicians with tools and experience! Our techs got to work disassembling the unit and inspecting it in detail. As it turned out, the problem was twofold: the impeller was neither concentric nor perpendicular thus impeding ANY operation. We machined the impeller to tolerance and reverified it against all tolerances. Once reassembled, the pump was fully operational and was out the door for delivery to the customer.

Case CLOSED.
